Nashville Predators Tickets
The Nashville Predators are the heart and soul of hockey throughout Tennessee. While Nashville may not seem like your typical hockey market, Preds fans are among the most passionate hockey fans in the NHL, making Bridgestone Arena one of the toughest buildings to play in for opposing teams. Captain Shea Weber and star goaltender Pekka Rinne are looking to guide the Predators to the Stanley Cup Playoffs once again this season, and challenge rival teams like the St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, and Detroit Red Wings for Central Division supremacy. Nashville Predators History
The Nashville Predators officially joined the NHL in 1998-1999, making their NHL debut against the Florida Panthers to a sold out crowd at Bridgestone Arena. It took a little time for the Preds to find their fangs, as they struggled in their first few seasons of existence. However, in 2003-2004 the Preds finished the regular season with 91 points, clinching their first postseason berth in franchise history, and a earning a first round matchup with the Detroit Red Wings. Although the Red Wings would prevail in six hard-fought games, Nashville finally got its first taste of NHL playoff hockey, and they were hungry for more.
While the Preds were a consistent playoff team, they were unable to advance past the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Nashville bucked that trend in 2010-2011, when they defeated the Anaheim Ducks in six games, advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Last season proved to be another success for Nashville, as they enjoyed a stellar season from Pekka Rinne, and finished as the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Facing the Detroit Red Wings once again in the first round, Nashville blitzed the Wings in only five games. Although the Preds would fall to the hot goaltending of Mike Smith and the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round, Nashville remains steadfast in their pursuit of bringing the Stanley Cup to the Music City for the first time.
Nashville Predators Fans
While the Detroit Red Wings have their tradition of throwing an octopus onto the ice, Preds fans created their own tradition when the Wings come to town by throwing a catfish onto the ice following a Nashville goal at Bridgestone Arena. Earning the nickname of “Smashville,” the Predators and their fans make life for opposing teams a nightmare when they come to visit the Music City. Notorious fans who occupy a section in Bridgestone Arena called "The Cellblock," refer to themselves as the loudest fans in the NHL. Gnash, the Predators’ mascot, helps get the crowd pumped up to watch the Preds hit the ice. If you want to experience the fun and excitement of “Smashville,” then the only way is to purchase your Nashville Predators tickets now!
